How to Enable Partial Payments for Invoices

Modified on Wed, Jan 29 at 8:49 AM

What’s New?

Previously, customers could only make full payments on invoices. Now, with the new Partial Payments feature, businesses can set a minimum percentage of the total invoice amount that customers must pay, giving them more flexibility.

Benefits of Partial Payments

  • Allows customers to pay in installments.

  • Helps businesses collect more payments.

  • Works for both one-time and recurring invoices (with some conditions).

Important Notes

  • For recurring invoices, partial payments are only available if autopayment is disabled.

  • If autopayment is enabled, the first invoice can be partially paid, but all subsequent invoices will be automatically drafted for the full amount.

How to Enable Partial Payments

  1. Ensure a Payment Gateway is Integrated
    Supported gateways: Stripe, Authorize.net, NMI

  2. Go to Invoice Settings

    • Navigate to Payments → Invoices → Invoice Settings

    • Click on Payment Settings

  3. Enable Partial Payments

    • Turn on the Partial Payments Toggle

    • Enter the minimum percentage required for payment (this percentage is based on the total invoice amount)

  4. Save Your Changes

    • Click Save and you’re all set!

Now, your customers can pay invoices partially, providing them with more payment flexibility while improving your payment collection process!
