How to Use the New Events Feature in Communities

Media Shield’s new Events feature is here to make managing and joining community events easier than ever. Whether you’re hosting a local meetup, an online workshop, or a celebration, this tool helps you connect with your group effortlessly. Here's how it works:


For Admins & Group Owners

  1. Create & Manage Events: Easily set up events for your community.

  2. Free or Paid Options: Choose whether to make the event free or charge for it. You can also decide who can access it—based on courses, private channels, or membership levels.

  3. Add Event Details: Include all the essential information like date, time, location, and description. You can even add Zoom links, Google Meet links, or physical addresses.


For Members

  1. Discover Events: Browse events in your community with ease.

  2. Register Quickly: Sign up for events that interest you in just a few clicks.

  3. Stay Organized: Add events directly to your Google or iCal calendar with one click.

  4. Get Notifications: Receive in-app alerts and email reminders about upcoming events. You can also find alerts in the Discussions Tab.


Mobile Updates

On mobile, the Events and Profile sections are now under the MORE menu, while Notifications and Chat icons are at the top for easy access.
